Hope Chang

2025–Present

Hope is a second-year MAR, concentrating in Theology. She comes to the Computational Theology Lab having been trained in sociology, systematic theology, and biblical studies. Her research with the lab involves developing new computational protocol for network analysis of theological journals. Her current academic interests are post-colonial feminist theologies, ethnic and Asian American studies, and apocalypse/tic bodies.

Arne Kaefer
Researcher

Arne Kaefer

2025–Present

Arne studied Protestant Theology in Bavaria, Berlin, and Tübingen and spent a semester abroad in Japan for interreligious studies. He is currently participating in an exchange program between the state of Connecticut and the state of Baden-Württemberg and is studying at Yale Divinity School. From an early age, he has been interested in software engineering and programming. At the Digital Theology Lab, Arne is working on implementing TEI guidelines for our current project MapTheo.

Mikey Tang
Researcher

Mikey Tang

2024–Present

Mikey studies Second Temple Judaism at Yale. He is broadly interested in the Dead Sea Scrolls, Hebrew Bible, and Semitic Philology. He comes to Yale from Saint Paul Minnesota, where he finished his BA from Macalester College, with major in Classics and minors in Linguistics and Computer Science. At the Digital Theology Lab, Mikey collaborates with scholars from Vanderbilt and Texas A&M and works on Syriaca.org, an online platform that produces digital tools and reference resources that facilitate scholarly research on Syriac studies.

Jonah Causin
Researcher

Jonah Causin

2026–Present

Jonah is an MAR student, concentrating in the New Testament. His primary academic interests are in apocalypses/apocalypticism, Jewish-Christian relations, and martyrdom. Before enrolling at Yale Divinity School, he received his BA from Boston University, where he double majored in Religion and Philosophy with a minor in Political Science. At the Computational Theology Lab, Jonah works with scholars from Vanderbilt and Texas A&M on the Syriaca.org project, which produces digital tools and reference resources for the study and preservation of Syriac literature, history, and culture.

Morgan Fuksa
Researcher

Morgan Fuksa

2026–Present

Morgan is a first-year MAR student concentrating in History of Christianity. Her research focuses on ancient medicine, the body, and gender in late antiquity. Her background in German language and literature has prepared her for her research in the lab, which focuses on the Karl Barth project.
